No real point in changing from a 16g to an 18g tbh, also it does depend on your car, and you will need your car remapped.

Of course you can upgrade all the above, cost you about 7k but its better than seeing your piston on the outside of the engine when the rod lets go (or the gearbox shearing the cogs )

Trust me, your running on borrowed time 400bhp on a standard classic engine is suicide when (and its when and not if) it lets go then its a new engine as piston out of block time
Play it safe as you find your MY99 gearbox isnt exactly strong either, these engines can spit their dummy's out well under 350bhp, 350bhp is seen as the top end of reliability, your option though, either that or a big bill tbh

i do not doubt that dave rowe mapped it correctly and very safely bu the fact is your running a 212bhp car at 400bhp on standard internals that are 17 years old now and rather tired. your standard 5 speed gearbox, well i am surprised 3rd and 4th have survived this long. you must drive like my granny mate

Obvious question, have you given any thought to how you will rebuild the turbo, and get it dynamically balanced afterwards?

Provided you can do all that (or know someone who can), and provided the parts you're using are of good quality there's no technical reason why you couldn't do what you're asking about. However, you would obviously need a map revision, and it's then an open question as to how long your engine and transmission will handle the results.
