In the last few weeks i have noticed a very small oil leak.

Is there a common cause of this as i have no idea where it's coming from. Can smell oil burning after a long motorway drive so it's obviously dropping down onto something hot.

Hope someone can help.

i have the same problem, oil is leaking out the front of the engine and onto the exhaust, i am off to anthony betts at the weekend to have it looked into i will let you know the results it may be of help to you

 

It could be what I've got - a leak on the drivers side rocker cover. This drips onto the exhaust, burns, smells!! I'm trying to replace it although there's no local place that stocks one. If its any help, I've taken the old one off, cleaned it up and put it back - it didn't work but it shows the job of replacing one is easy enough.

 

What Felix said is usually the case. (oil leak from rocker cover on to hot exhaust). Usually replacement is the best bet. As mine was warped a little and wouldn't behave.

Ice - I think you and me are in the same boat. My nearest dealer is day trip out so I'm trying to find one online. Let us know how things go. I'd take a guess at anywhere from £10-15 and its easy to fit if not fiddley to get to.
