Default newbie ppp/ecutek mods

Hi Guys. im new here but not green to high bhp mods, had a 400ish bhp gt4 carlos sainz.

ive bought a 03 blobeye wrx with ppp installed and it has ecutek dash.

im trying to understand what kind of map it has. owner said it did 340 bhp at 1.5 bar on the rollers. i wouldnt think this is true ?

would the ecutek hold two maps, as currently it boost to 1.1 bar.
previous owner said the boost could be set at 1.5 bar. its seems a little high without the correct fueling and cooling.

any info welcome and how to investigate further.
regards
DAZ

take a picture of the engine bay.. and a close up of the turbo.. to make 340bhp on a WRX non STi would need a turbo change.

1.1bar could be standard ppp or it has been remapped.. the ecutek dash display can be added to the standard car

cheers for the reply Simon.

What i understand is its been remapped and had work done on the exhaust side of the turbo to help flow and reduce lag.

the wrx has a 280bhp turbo give or take a bit.. ie. there is no way it could make 340bhp without a turbo change

cheers for the reply Simon , i guessed a standard wrx wouldn't meet any where near 340 bhp as quoted by the previous owner.

As for questions to go forward.

Sti engines are different to wrx engines . apart from injectors, turbo, intercooler ,ecu, and manifold ( i think ) what other differences are their. engine internals and performance wise.

im looking to take my 03 wrx to 350 bhp .

i had my gt4 cs mapped at tractive , whats the impression with Richard mapping impreza's . personally ive had a good experience with them mapping my Hydra nemesis but on the celica gt4 cs.

Just look at Shaun's Spec C to see what Richard has done with Impreza's or his own Spec C which is pushing out about 500bhp
350bhp in a wrx will require a new turbo, vf35's are favourite off the STI's, along with injectors (off STI's again), uprated fuel pump and remap.

yes vf35 and injectors and exhaust mods as Tony says.. wrx internals if in good condition should have no issue at that power. However if you have only just bought it and have therefore no sentimental attachment to it.. put the money for the mods with the car and just buy an STi.. which is then just an exhaust and remap awayu from 340bhp etc
