boost gauge fitting ?
Hi,
looking around a customer of mines car today, he had a boost gauge fitted i thought this would be a nice addition to mine, how difficult are they to fit? on a mechanics scale im about a 3.5/10

Fit a normal mechanical one. The electro-mechanical ones - where the raw boost signal is converted, by a box of electronics, to an electrical signal - respond slower.
Simple. Choose a mounting place. You can get bespoke Impreza A-pillar pods for both the 60mm and 52mm gauges for example. Feed the vac hose through a suitable grommeted hole in the bulkhead. One end of the vac line goes to the vac nipple on back of gauge, the other end goes to a spare vac nipple on the inlet manifold. If there's no spare, then splice into the vac hose to the dump valve, by way of a 3-way plastic vac T-piece. It'll now work.
If you want it light up (assuming it has onboard illumination), then follow the instructions supplied with the gauge - straightforward enough...

I fitted mine myself was the first modification I did (if it truly counts as a modification)
The process is as follows.
Fit t piece on pipe from the dump valve.
Run a thin pipe from the t to the cabin, I used a coat hanger to pass the pipe through a gromit.
Feed pipe in gab between dash and attach to gauge.
Done
I am sure there is a more detailed list of instructions with photos somewhere on the site although it will alter slightly depending on the model and where you want your gauge but the basic steps are the same.
