Noticed a slight smell of burning oil yesterday, so took the wagon to my friendly garage to get it checked out this morning......

.....seems to be the crank pulley oil seal, as its coming from the bottom of the cambelt cover

Need it for work this week so i'll just have to keep my eye on it until i can get it done next saturday, but i'm gonna have to get myself a seal, belt and tensioner kit if it's all coming off!! Bit gutted as the last belt change was only 30k ago, but hey, at least it'll be fresh again once it's done *curses*

Anyway, my mate reckons i should be able to source the parts cheaper myself on the net than his supplier will do them, then he'll just charge me labour. So can anyone reccommend somewhere to supply? It's a 98 uk turbo 2000.....

Nice one. That seems pretty cheap to me........!!

The Gates kit is about a tenner more - is it worth the extra pennies or should i just stick with the Dayco kit?

I've got the same kit on my 97 u.k turbo. Gates, Dayco they are all the same with the same Guarantee. Only blueprint parts have a different guarantee.

that's all wright. my crank pulley oil seal is leaking to, I did my cam kit and water pump about 1000 miles ago and didn't change that oil seal so I'm a bit pissed about it as well.
