Engine out for a start !! I'm just about to do the head gaskets on a 1998 STi Ra two door, I was thinking about writing a tutorial with pix if anyone would be interested. But remember it's a three day job for us "The Ra will be our fourth back to back" prob 4 days if I have to take pix and write it all up. If you're not a mechanic I'd suggest taking it to a local specialist who will charge you around £750 to £800 rem the gaskets can come to £200 and you have to change the timing belt at the same time so thats on top of the £750 also. How old is your clutch ?? It's prob gonna need done as well £195 ish.

I never new that 2 door ra's were made.I thought 2 doors were type r and p1, but i maybe wrong. I dont know who's chargin £750- £800 for a timing belt (main stealers not that price). Dont bother looking for a haynes manual as i dont think they do one for the impreza. Its always good to check your clutch when eng is out but if it was fine before yer gasket went, itll still be fine.....
