Question tempreture sender?

my tempreture sender is faulty,the one that tells ecu temp of engine will this give me probs starting?
i know the temp sender is faulty as i have apexi ecu and commander it displays water temp on it one minute it says -42 then goes to 7 then will go up to about 83 84 which is normal then drops back down and choke comes on even though engine is warm

Yes, it can cause starting problems. If the ECU can't accurately track coolant temperature, it can't properly apply any cold start/cold running enrichment.
