I have a MY02 Sti Spec C Type RA.
I am wanting an upgraded ECU, I am thinking of the Prodrive ECU for this car.
What is the difference in these ECU's from a WR1, PPP ECU and the Prodrive ECU for this model ?
Will they run 98 octane fuel ?

I see different ECU's on Ebay..... just want to select the correct one.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Just ask JGM or a.n.other to map it, buying an ecu from ebay is a waste of time and money.

In which case you may as well stop thinking about it now. The PPP ECUs are mapped for the STi Type UK, which has a different turbo (and in certain areas) different engine to your car. In any case yours will already be producing more power than the 305ps PPP so even if you could get it to work it'd be a pointless swap.

There's also the compatibility issues you'd face if you tried to drop in an ECU from another model year, or any sort of UK spec Impreza into your Japanese market car.

The answer is: None of them. The way forward in your case is as Dunx has already suggested: Custom remap.
