Intake
Hi folks
Im looking at fitting an induction kit to my 94 wrx as im getting a front mount etc...
Question is on this product...
SAMCO SILICONE TURBO KIT SUBARU IMPREZA WRX/STI -1996 on eBay (end time 12-Apr-10 17:14:15 BST)
Does this seem to be the right part for my car to bolt between the maf and turbo, delete the resonator box and on other side of maf bolt the filter??
Cheers
Eoin

No, that's the MY93-96 turbo to TMIC to TB hose set.
You need this if a MY93-96 JDM:-
Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail
Or this version if a MY93-96 UK (note the extra port on the MAF hose):-
Roger Clark Motorsport - RCM Product Detail
You'd also need a res delete pipe such as MRT's, or the Apexi one, that fits between those 2 hoses.
BTW, I have the MRT one for sale...

Ah Right
Well ive been offered this for €50
"autobahn resonator(replaces black box on induction arm for quicker air flow) w/hks style mushroom induction kit and maf adaptor and blue samco"
Now ill be purchasing a new filter a better quality one, but is this the part I need to delete the resonator box and fit the filter??
If somebody has something similar for sale or has a specific set I can buy. Getting fed up of trawling the net looking at bits and never the full kit!

By that description, it sounds like that kit includes a MAF adaptor (for the air filter to bolt to), MAF hose plus res delete pipe. It sounds like it's missing the res delete to turbo intake hose, so you'd have to reuse your exisitng plastic/rubber OEM one.
As said, I have the MRT res delete metal pipe complete with the large idle breather and the BCS's recirc ports. I also have two silicone 90-deg hoses, as per the RCM kits... EXCEPT... the res to turbo intake hose doesn't have the 3-ports needed for the oil breathers and DV recirc. I also have a K&N filter.
You can have the whole lot for £80.
P.S. You'd just need to buy a MAF adaptor like below for the filter and MAF to bolt to, so as to complete the inlet tract:-
*NEW* MAF Intake Adapter 3" Subaru Impreza on eBay (end time 30-Mar-10 11:23:27 BST)
I do have the MAF adaptor too, but it's been patched up badly by a previous owner, so the airflow through it might be compromised a bit.

Hey lad
So If I got what you have can i use the following...
Filter to maf (as long as i buy the adaptor) to 90 degree hose to res delete pipe.
Can I use the original turbo to intake pipe??
How much delivered to southern Ireland, and how soon can you get it posted if I pay in the morning!
Cheers

Yes that's right. And that way you can reuse all your oil breathers, idle breather and DV and BCS recircs. Exactly as the OEM set-up.
So to be clear I'll be offering:-
* K&N air filter
* MAF to res delete 90-deg hose (it's a Samco or SPS one )
* MRT metal res delete pipe
I'll also bung in that MAF adaptor (it'd be up to you if you want to use it )
Just to let you know, the previous owner of the K&N cut down the rubber mounting collar a bit too much, but there is just enough left for it to clamp to the MAF adaptor and create an airtight seal. Also the filter's collar is actually 80mm ID... but still tightens around a 76mm MAF adaptor if you tighten the jubilee clip up enough - no problem. You can get a 80mm adaptor from Regals Motorsport off eBay - but costs 24 quid plus p&p
If you pay me anytime before 3pm tomorrow, I'll endeavor to send it that evening.
