just drove home and on way car cut out and then started again but is makin a very odd knocking noise!!! sounds to me like a valve maybe?? and help would be great cheers glen.

 

Can't you host a soundclip on YouTube or somesuch?

All but impossible to diagnose noise symptoms via written descriptions. Even more so when you only offer us "very odd knocking noise"?! Could be 'anything' - need far more detailed and succinct info, mate...

 

it seems to idle fine but then every 10sec it makes the knock noise.

 

could it be a big end??? would this mean full engine rebuild??

 

Could be but again might not be best record it and let us hear it
