Default alarm issue

hi, ive got a subaru cat 1 alarm fitted to my car an it has never worked, well... the alarm works with the locking and lights flashing, but ive no noise,,

the question is does it use the horn and not a siren as there is no siren box anywhere

also if it does, does anyone think they know what the problem may be??

thanx ross

subaru alarms are programed leave a door open then set it see if you get audio.
you need to look in the security systems book to program it

If you're talking about a Sigma M30 or S30 then yes, there is (or should be) an independent battery backed siren. Subaru usually install them in the engine compartment, although it could be in the inner wing on a non-OE install. If you can't see it, it probably isn't there.
