Right Im looking at a top mount intercooler on ebay

I am planning upgrading my 05 WRX intercooler to either this or an STI version.

Which one is best? Ebay one is larger?

Id go for the STI intercooler, cheaper and proven to work.

 

I've just brought an STI tmic. I was tempted by the cheaper versions on ebay but heard bad things, I've also learnt the hard way mate, never buy cheaper stuff - never as good quality and it always ends in tears.

I got my one from jap performance parts £240, i know they're a bit cheaper on ebay - but this one is in pucker condition and if its wrong i can send it back - good to have some peace of mind.

 

nice, there is also the problem of buying a 'fake' sti intercooler on ebay.

Hi pal. I bought one very similar to the item you looked at. To be honest it was garbage. Big, heavy and a poor fit.
So I then bought what i thought was a STI intercooler ( which turned out to be a WRX intercooler which someone had sprayed STI on to !! ).

Like GezP said - get a proper STI from a reputable source ! Don't get bummed ( twice ! ) like I did !!

 

Plenty of genuine STI topmounts for sale on here. Going rate is around £150. Thats what I paid anyway
