Default Oil Leak!!!!

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!

Alright, not the best mechanically so need as much help possible!

basically have an oil leak, not really bad but bad enough if you know what I mean. thing is with bonnet open cant see anything, everything looks dry up top, but underneath it seems to coming out around the timing belt cover certainly the oil is around that region not along the heads or rear. just right at front behind the pulley casing? That Crank oil seal? If it is, expensive job to get done? As its been raining up here (surprise, eh) cant see where its coming from exactly,

HELP!

Mines is a forged engine, no loss in power or performance just this leak. Apparently the oil pump sits there to so is there maybe something wrong with that?

Think its a trip to a specialist, fingers crossed its an easy fix!

I had an oil leak, was told it was rear crank seal and oil pump failure.
You should get it checked out by a specialist ASAP as due to that my bearings went and cost loadsssss to do a rebuild..

& Keep an eye on your oil level constantly.

If it's got oil on it the cambelt will need replacing anyway

Could also be camshaft oil seal - I had one go on my forged 2.5 due to excess oil pressure! It basically blew it out, but thankfully did not do any other damage as I stopped in time and had it recovered. It was not too time consuming to fix (an hour or 2 I think) - but I can't tell you how much as the fix was done under warranty

I also know that changing the oil pump - to which the crankshaft oil seal is attached - is also straight forward as I've had that done within an hour while I waited.

Ahhhhhhh crap, repair bill keeps going up and up!

My defi oil pressure gauge has a solid needle at just over 60 everywhere I drive so pretty sure its not the pump. Ive heard it may even be one of the oil pipes down there that could be split to so could be really easy or it could be number of things together! Timing belt was only done 7k ago to, bugger!! But better changing them and other belts incase they are contaminated!

Timing belt change been quoted £300, not sure if that was them changing any other drive belts but pretty sure that was him replacing any seals/pipes that were split or away and also replacing antifreeze in radiator that they take off to do job. £300 id have rather spent on something else, but hey better than 3k for some kind of rebuild!!
