Is it possible to move the map switching on an ecutek map from the demist (double click) to some other switch? Can it be done with wiring only or is it a job for the mapper? Ideally I'd like a new switch in (like the fog one) which lights up when one map is selected.

Changing the map switch trigger is a job for the mapper. As to whether you could wire in a custom switch to do it, it's certainly possible, but doing it in the manner you ask - with a non-momentary switch with an illuminated tell-tale, needs ECU firmware changes and a degree of vehicle wiring/electronics experience.

Might be you'll find someone with the knowledge you need, and may well be that some of the OS people have already done this type of thing, but it's a bit more complex than mapping.
