Default ppp or ecutek or even standard????

my o2 sti has a ppp certificate but on inspection of the ecu there are no prodive markings on it (i have the prodrive exhaust, sports cat & it has an uprated fuel pump fitted) my previous classic scoob was running 330bhp on the same vf35 and this car feels just as quick, i have a very reliable boost gauge i have used on other cars and i am seeing a 1.3bar boost???? so would this be ppp, standard or ecutek'd ?? compared to other bugeye sti drivers

My PPP'd ECU has prodrive markings along with the details of the original dealers details. Not sure if that helps ?

Maybe someone has changed the ECU to a std one then had it ECUtek'd ?

I've not got an accurate boost gauge to compare.. Only a PSi3 which reads off the ECU, which on my car has a Gems piggyback board, effectively tricking the main ECU to thinking the boost is lower than it actually is. So will not give an accurate reading..

That said, I would expect 1.3bar to be about right for a PPP car..

ppp on the 02 cars is ecutek. thats what prodrive use. I think 1.3 is right for the ppp most get to about 1.5 with after market ecutek

Not sure that is 100% correct from a conversation I had with Andrew Carr.. But I may be wrong ?

would be nice if you told us what bit you thought was wrong so we could debate it?

Not sure the ECU's were re-flashed using ECUtek software..

I know ECU's that were PPP'd in 2002 like mine were fitted with a Gems piggyback unit rather than being re-flashed. I know this changed a year or two later to a re-flash, but I'm not sure what software was used ? If it was ECUtek, I'm pretty sure the license will be locked.

you correct there locked> the point being if ecutek's used there no markings on the ecu and i believe it changed from piggyback to ecutek half way through 2001 some early bugeyes had piggyback i believe. but i could be wrong

I've not opened mine up to check, but from the conversation I had with Andrew Carr, and because of the boost readings on my PSi3, I believe mine to be a piggyback unit. The casing is marked with dealer details / Prodrive and a warning sticker to make sure that an uprated fuel pump is fitted..
