Classic Turbo 2000 Grey Import
If a classic Turbo 2000 is a grey import what would be the difference between that and a UK version?
Thanks

As a result it might not have the Sigma category 1 alarm fitted as standard by IM on all its cars, and may or may not be officially supported by IM for warranty purposes.
Beyond that, if it's the same applied model code (GC8xK8D, or GF8xK8D where x is the model year) it should be all but identical to an "official" UK car.

The "Turbo 2000" was a specific UKDM marketed car, so can't be an import.
But they did export same spec cars to most of Europe, SA, NZ, Aus and some Arab states, etc. These all had different names. For example, rather confusingly, the Aussie one was still called a "WRX"!, even though it was the same as a UK car, mechanically!
France's one was called "GT" or "GT Turbo", etc etc...

If I remember right Cyprus, Germany and Belgium were among the common sources. If Scoobynet's search will go that far back you'll probably find numerous references to them.
The key difference is that it wasn't brought into the country by International Motors, the accredited UK Subaru importer.

Appears mine is a grey import then and to add to it the service manual is in another language and shows Benelux as the address which is a union of Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, which i didn't know!
Also mine had a Clifford alarm installed a year after registration and no signs of a Sigma, which i talked to you about before Splitpin.
The model code is GC8HK8D which is UK.
So yeah imported by another distributer other than IM to Benelux and then imported to UK.
Also Splitpin looking back at the alarm thread you replied to of mine you said:
What significance is the K/L in the model code? Mine is K.
Thanks a lot
