Clunky Sound from rear
Hi All,
I have started to hear a clunking sound from the rear of the carand i am hoping it is just something like the hand brake binding..
I am planning on stripping the rear brakes down to have a look to see if the is anything obviously wrong.
Has anyone done this? if you have how easy is it to do? as i know on my Classic there was a drum inside the rear that housed the hand brake so i am hoping that it is the same design (I have got a 2005 STi Type UK)
Please let me know if you can help with what it may be?
Cheers
Lee

it's easy to strip down , release hanbrake , remove disc , if disc doesn't come off in 1 then get a 10mm nut and bolt it in to push the disc off the hub (u'll know what i mean when stripped down)
Also the blobeyes rear suspension was known for knackering up so it could well be worth looking at that also

I have just spoken to the Local Subaru Dealer..Luckily enough the parts/aftersales manager is a mate of mine and is going to see if its possible to get it covered under warranty as they have done a whole load of them already as it is a common fault apparently..
If not i cant see anypoint in going with standard shocks so i am thinking these may be the way forward
Suspension : Subaru Impreza BC Coilover Suspension BC Racing
or something similar if anyone cares to make a suggestion that would be good.. bearing in mind i use it as a daily driver and could do without rattling out any teeth..

Yeah i thought so, i just gave Martyn a call he said to bin the stock shocks and get a set of coilovers..
Going to order some tonight so hopefully they will be here by the weekend so i can get them fitted, going to get the ones i mentioned before in a previous post as they seem to have some good reviews and not too damaging to the wallet either..
can you PM me your number so i can give you a shout if i need anything else?
Cheers
