The missus was driving home tonight on the motorway doing 80ish and her speedo went up to 120mph, she didn't gain any more speed but the car would justs reved upto stupid speeds (on the speedo not rev counter)

She pulled in on the hard shoulder and tried again, but she had it in gear with clutch up and the car didn't move, but the speedo mph went upto 50mph odd, as in the car would run in 1st gear, clutch up at a standstill.

Britannia Rescue towed her home and left the car on the road outside, not thinking she tried to move it onto the drive and it works?!?

She has driven it round the block with no problem, but she thinks the power is not there anymore?

Any ideas chaps
