Is it not the compressed air that makes it hot and not the fact that it runs over the turbo?

both i suppose lol it would only be hot inside near the turbo side , on the battrey side of the fmic its caused by engine heat , u wouldnt want to wrap the turbo side of the fmic pipes as the pipe itself will dissipate the heat if its an aluminium pipe but only slightly and the pipe itsself will take in most of it , wraping the battery side of the pipes ( hope u know what i mean lol ) will stop the pipes conducting the heat that the intercooler has just worked hard to cool down so to speak so if u are wrapping them only wrap the pipe that comes from the throttle body to the battery side of the fmic

Ceramic coating of the pipes would help as well if you want the tidy look
