Default definitive answer on head bolts please

I know this question has been asked a ridiculous amount of times but every time its asked 50% of people say yes they are re usable because they are NOT stretch bolts and the other 50% say they ARE stretch bolts and you cant re use them.

so what is it yes or no? I dont mind having to buy some but its going to delay my car getting back on the road and funds are tight due to some of the unforseen parts ive had to buy for it whilst doing these pesky headgaskets

They are definitely NOT stretch bolts, The official workshop manuals from Subaru make no mention of renewing or measuring the bolts, all they say is that you must apply oil to the threads and washers before refitting

they have only done 70,000 of completley standard power and they look brand new so I cant see a reason why I shouldnt re use them.

I can imagine that if you had to renew them then the manual would state so. I mean they even state that you must use a new headgasket and I think anybody who has any mechanical knowledge would know that.

They are not stretch bolts. Provided they are in good physical nick there's no good reason not to reuse them.
