as im about to take the plunge and do the 2.5 conversion in my type r there are a few things i need clearing up.

will my standard v4 ecu be ok in running the engine.
and will my v4 inlet manifold and injectors etc fit straight on.

1. no, you need an aftermarket ecu and it will need mapping.
2. not sure, but I would be concerned about the increase in torque that the 2.5 will give you over the 2ltr engine as your clutch and gearbox aint exactly bomb proof

As tony said really but i would like to say that im currently doing this in my type r and am going forged as well. The gearbox and clutch wont last at all over 350/350. Also it depends alot on other supporting mods, i.e turbo, ecu, what power u want out of it?

All i will say is do alot of reading first and decide what you really want out of it.

Oh and alot of money if you go for big power. Im up to over 2 grand and havn't even started building the engine yet and the 6 speed i need are roughly 3 grand!

If you keep a std. sized turbo on it, she'll manage around 300 of each and slide like a MK.II Escort, i.e. on demand.....
