Removing door bars.

2002 newage car,has anyone removed all the inner door bars/scafolding stuff? how much weight does it save and do they come out ok without denting the outer skin ?.

Only for a track car IMHO, insurance companies wouldn't like it, and TBH I'd prefer to replace with a cage with door bars anyway....

things would get nasty if you get hit side on, plus i think the bar is welded in?
