If you are spending big money on big power it is worth looking at APS and Hyperflow front mounts. They go in to 4 figures, but are the best you can get. I'm sure there are others

If it's for a classic, then a Hybrid GT Spec or GT2 Spec without any hesitation.

As used by many of the top cars, even those with virtually limitless budgets.

quite a bit mate power level would need to be 500+ before u need to start thinking big money so gt one should be fine as for pipework , have it custom made as theres no comparison to those ebay jobies that never ever fit

Pre 96 models need a little tweaking, all other years are a direct fit with no pipework mods.

reason being to the above post is there is not many available pipework for the pre96 as most are just put down as classic fitment but are in fact for 97 to 2000 cars hence why custom is best without a doubt , doesnt cost an arm and a leg either

sti top mounts need alterations to the intake hose from the throttle body and cuting of the clutch reservoir but are very very good i would opt for the sti one , they can be pricey sumtimes though

custom pipes again mate will allow u to choose the shortest route to the turbo/intercooler etc unless u reverse the inlet but please dont as this is nowhere near needed at all unless u have a serious spec , turbo lag is not that bad with the fmic's as long as u route the pipes in a decent way instead of all the way round the outsides of the car lol

u can reverse the turbo itself by rotating the housing or compressor housing ( whatever u want to call it lol ) and welding the acuator back up on top of the turbo that allows u to lose nearly 1/2 to 3/4 of a metre right away but as i said mate its really not that bad with the standard pipes so isnt really worth the hassle again

I operate an APS FMIC on one car and Hybrid GT on 2 others. During mapping Bob Rawle has commented on how the Hybrid is more capable at maintaining lower ACTs than the APS.

This is the reason for my thread. My car has a autobahn at present which seems to be
much too restrictive and giving much too high charge temp. thanks all for your
advice.
