Default wrx gearbox problem

hi ppl was wondering if anyone could help i have a 2001 bugeye wrx and was driving it the other day and it got stuck in second and the gear stick went solid no movement at al then 2 mins later was bk to normal was thinking there maybe something up with the selector can anyone help or explain this thanks

more than likely m8 if it jammed solid unles its the uv joint in the shift shaft underneath the car but i doubt it i would assume where the rod goes into the gaer box u may ahve a problem there , check ur gearbox oil anyway but i doubt this will matter

its selector forks inside the gearbox on imprezas but the shift shaft i think is where u should be looking , inspect underneath the car first before u go looking internally

thanks for your reply gearbox oil is fine it just happend the other day been fine ever since just dnt want the hassel if there is summit wrong as it happend when i bought it at the start of last year but never done it again till the other week there so dnt no what the problem is will check underneath and have a look thanks again for your time appreciated m8 cheers
