£1'000 Burning a hole in my pocket!
Hello all, Scoob Noob here! But a bit of a Jap Car fanatic.
My wife just bought herself an '04 WRX Wagon yesterday (with Prodrive certified upgrade package). It's Lurvely!!!
We've got a bit of cash left over from an insurance payout (about a grand ) and we want to do a few bits to it. But after a whole afternoon of using the search facilities, my head is fried and I need some straight answers
What's the crack with BOVs? Will they have a negative effect on performance (stalling issues?). I'd prefer to get the Bailey as its cheap enough but I assume the HKS SSQV is a better option?
Second question... where can we get rear spats? as per this image:
We also want to lower it. I'm happy just to sling it down on Tein springs... but is it that simple or do you have to upgrade other parts at the same time?
Sorry to bowl in with all the questions but I'm struggling to find the right info!

As far as Im aware, Bailey = . HKS is probably a better option, but many more knowledgeable people will follow me to say there are a lot better upgrades to spend your coin on.

Sounds like a similar situation to myself, all being I have a saloon. I've fitted a green panel filter, turbosmart bov, prosport boost gauge and ninja back box.
I was looking at putting Tein s-tech springs on it to but I hear a lot of negative things, harsh ride and puts factory shocks under added strain, so looking at full coil overs now which I know are more in price but in the long run worth it imo.
As far at the bov is concerned, imo after installing my turbosmart unit I did notice less lag, not massively but enough to notice. The HKS SSQV is a nice bit of kit, go with that if you decide on getting one.
Nice scoob to!

No offence taken, but consider how many people think they are well suited to the UK roads. You can probably get better for track use, but for general road use the BCs (and KW come rated by Revolution) seem the best bet. The BCs are the same price as the new Spax coilovers that have just been released

I'd uprate the front discs and pads to Ferodo DS 2500 or similar, braided hoses, DOT 5 fluid
Whiteline 24 adjustable rear ARB, solid rear droplinks,Eibach springs
Fast road geometry setup
That will transform the car.

Cheers s70rjw - though I think we'll be focusing initially on the presentation of the car. It already looks good, had the waist spoiler fitted, windows tinted etc. But it could look better.
I'm ordering a front splitter on Monday which we'll have colour coded. Desperately looking for the rear spats but apart from the ones on ebay, can't find any! Not sure about the ebay ones... they don't look great and you can't be sure of fit/quality.
I may call a local dealer and ask them if they can supply spats... surely they must be able to?

If the Lady wants to enjoy driving the car, I'd agree with Eibach springs on it. Not over lowered and nicely firm without jarring.

Right, well I'm happy to go with Eibach if Prodrive are happy to go with Eibach
Only issue really though is that the only sets I've seen are not compatible with the wagon due to its naturally heavier back end. Is there a solution to this?

Are Eibachs fitted to the P1 as OEM then? Are the dampers Eibach too then?
Can anyone tell me the actual part nos. for both springs and dampers, front and rear, for the P1?
Are any of these springs any good? Looking for a firm (not crashy) ride, suitable for typical UK fast A- and B-roads (read crap!):-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EIBACH-PRO-KIT...item48383bc013
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/EIBACH-SPRINGS...item2a021d4222
What are decent dampers to control them?

G'ah! Skyline tuning is so much easier!
Ordered Spats of eBay today... hope they are OK but if not, I can send them back. Also got Green filter, Zunsport grilles, Front splitter and some extra prodrive dress-up goodies! Spoken to my local bodyshop (who are sh*t hot) and will get all the bocykit parts colour coded next week. Mmmm
As per my post in suspension area... what spring sets can I get for the wagon? Apparently, due to the extra weight, I need a stiffer rear!

Leave the BOV as standard, it works the best and you don't need to fork out for a new one.
If you've got a bit of cash to spend, your best bang for buck mod would be a remap (from the likes of Jolly Green Monster posting above).
