Default heating prob's

hi all, dropped coolant a couple off mth's back topped with new antifreeze, cars getting up to temp ok but no heating inside car? could it be air locked......any help cheers steve

Obvious culprits are airlock or stuck stat (or possibly broken waterpump impeller shaft - least likely though).

Fab, glad it was just that... PHEW!

Did you get rid of the airlock by bleeding the coolant system by reinstating the coolant by the "correct method" or something?

hi joz8968, took cap off header tank topped up coolant with engine running & heater on full add more coolant as it warmed up to temp replaced cap topped res bottle at side off battery all done m8... cars running fine now m8

Can be a worry though - as invariably all immediate thoughts lead to: head gasket!!!

yeah thats what i was thinking...... just done a head gasket on chev v6 van i run, what a bloody nitemare that was m8:.... didn't fancy doing another 1 just yet
