Default STI Intercooler Fitting

Hi

Will the standard pipework (both below and up front) from a 99 UK Turbo intercooler fit straight to a STI Intercooler (98, with DV on front), thanks in advance.

The answer to your question is yes, but there are some caveats.

First of all, the standard moulded plastic Y-pipe is awful. You'd be silly to re-use it - find a proper STi replacement or use a Samco etc.

Secondly, this intercooler you're fitting, factual point. 98MY (i.e. STi4) intercooler doesn't have the DV on the front, it has a pipe sticking out to the left onto which the remote plastic valve is plumbed. If you have an intercooler with the dumpvalve bolted directly onto the front via a flange (the same way as your standard one), it's an STi5 or 6 (99 or 00MY) part you have.
