head bolts
on my auto data cd they say u dont need to renew the head bolts on a gasket change, but on this ebay listing they say you do, can anybody shed any light on this for me? thank you, barney

If you're doing gaskets on a std engine the std bolts can be reused. They don't have to be replaced so long as the bolts aren't threaded.
If you're doing a proper forged build that's going to be subject to higher forces than normal and you're more than likely using thicker than std gaskets you'd just go out and buy an ARP head bolts set. They will take the extra torque required to clamp the head down tighter so it can take much increased cylinder pressures when running the sort of high turbo boost that's trying to lift the heads off your block.
