can a dccd diff be fitted into a non dccd box?

Default can a dccd diff be fitted into a non dccd box?

as title i am looking at retro fitting a dccd box or diff do my non dccd car now is this possible for a start or can i put a dccd diff in my own box? i know about the dccd controller

From what i have been told, the open and viscous center diff units are interchangeable - So yes.

if you have got a jap classic (not sure about others) with 1:1 transfer gears you can swop the centre diff and case quite easily, done it myself, can be done with the box still on the car but its probably easier to remove it. The dccd diff i have is now surplus to me (someone hit me from behind and wrote the car off) if you want one also have dccdpro controller which i never got round to fitting which can go with it.
