Default cleaning Callipers for painting

Hi every one,
Does any one know the best way to clean up callipers before i can paint them??
Any advice would be great

wire brush and some thinners did the job for me.

Abrasive blaster and/or needle scaler if you have access to them. Wire brush on a drill if not.

Wire brush and then a stiff paintbrush and Wickes paintbrush cleaner, followed by hot water out of a watering can to flush them clean.

Go carefully around the rubber seals, your wire brush could destroy them.

You DON'T have to remove all the rust, just the loose stuff and muck if you are using Hammerite paint.
