Anyone know what the factory inlet pipe is rated to?
Just wondering what the Turbo inlet pipe is rated to?
I'm running a MD321T on the standard intake pipe (went for the 58mm inlet on the MD321T) and soon will be taking my manifold off the car to carry out the Billet rail mod. So thought sod it replace the intake pipe for the turbo at the same time.
But, what can they take? Is there any point in replacing the oem one?
My car is running fine on the standard one.
Been looking at a few on the net tonight.
RCM,
Lateral Performance etc
Also came across a few cheaper ones but at £80. Anyone use alike and hasn't caved in on a turbo like the MD series Turbo?
Hmmmmmmm

If you are going to that much trouble, I'd 'future proof' that pipe by getting the 76mm comp cover inlet for you turbo and a Samco 76mm pattern inlet pipe to match. That way you know you've got the best possible silicone one available... and at the biggest size. Then that way any future bhp goals won't be restricted by that element of the induction tract...
That said, the 321T is a 450bhp max turbo, so the exisitng 58mm one will probably have no bother with that power level (right?), therefore upgrading the comp cover/pipe size will be a waste of money.
Do you have any airflow issue with your existing inlet pipe? If not, then I simply wouldn't bother with it... Unless it's an OEM one with dodgy corrugated flexi section - in which case I'd upgrade to the ubiquitous 58mm Samco pattern part...

Cheers for the feed back guys.
I currently have the OEM corrugated style pipe for the inlet.
I won't be going over 450bhp as I am going to be running the standard internals etc.
Part of me is saying sod it. The OEM has done is job now but another part of me is saying change it whilst the manifold is off etc.

Did see that matey. Sent the misses out onto the street to earn some funds for the next project but it ended up costing me more by giving them money back in change.
Only thing I didn't understand on that description when I see it the other day was
"This fits underneath the inlet manifold and has been developed for the standard turbo."
Whats a standard turbo?
I've been in contact with Harvey. Also I am popping over to Mark at Lateral if he is open Thursday morning. Still tempted by the one at Japspeed thought for a fraction of the cost but will the beast cope with the MD321T?

I'd be tempted to look for a cheaper silicone alternative too, I must say... BUT... will it perform? Or will it collapse...?

Have you looked at the Airpowersystem website, I fitted their inlet pipe when I uprated my turbo to a FP Green. Link below;
APS Turbo Inlet Pipe
May involve a bit more work than just fitting a Samco but you will not get this collapsing.
Their main agent in the UK is ; Online Shop - DS Automotives
Give Dave a ring fo a price.

Cannot remember the price as it was 2008 I got it. It fitted easily to my bugeye so is not really year dependant. Only awckward bit was putting my Samco dump valve hose on as the port is slightly bigger thus the supplied DV hose.
