70mph..........ive been told they will do 150 but would not advise staying that speed for long as scoobys built for low down go bang when flat out

If you do aim for a top speed run - as soon as you stop accelerating, then back off. Unless of course, your car's sorted with a remap on a FMIC.

Personally, I wouldn't dare try it. If it were me, I'd positively hate myself - and would beat myself up a lot up LOL - if my bottom end or turbo died, when trying it! Simply not worth the ball ache and expense, just so that you can confirm a trivial fact to yourself.

Do you have any kind of knock detector on board, as well as a boost gauge in your line of sight? Must haves IMHO, if you're gonna attempt it...

i got 160 out of my scoob with the old box on, but with this p1 box & diff. only does 150 tops.

but its alot quicker to get there , done this a number of times, and the engine & turbo still perfect.

then again, was mapped and got front mount.
boost gauge & a knock link put in. inc an oil cooler too, just in case
and change the oil regualy (10/50 pro s)

Here is a chart when we ran at Marham this year and it will give you an idea on times of the cars. Mine is a hell of a lot faster now than it was when it ran that day

You sure that's a P1 box fitted? I thought the P1 had longer gearing than that?

P1 should be the same as a UK turbo's 5th (167ish mph, limited to 155mph), 155@8k would be a type R's gearbox.

The only reason the old ones died was due to the air passing over the bonnet scoop at high speeds wasn't it? Leading the hugely large intercooler temperatures and therefore det, and bangs lol. I thought this was cured on the newages though.. with the dip in the bonnet, and the larger scoops?
