Default Bugeye STi - Standard Form - when does it hit full boost? how to make it spool quicka

as above

just wondering when they hit full boost in standard form..

im pretty sure mine is at 4k

which is a lot later than my previous classic..

assume its because its a bigger turbo?

anyway just wanted to check if its normal and also best way to make it spool earlier?

cheers

Best way to make it spool earlier would be a remap.
4k does sound late though, header or uppipe leak?

Does it seem ultra smooth but lacking in "kick" as the AVCS comes in ?

If so it could be a neutral switch problem, or bring it round and I'll kick it's head-in....

Duh !

P.S. A std. STI is a heavy old bus, she really needs a sports cat/decat and a re-map to breathe properly, IMHO.

lol i have no idea, if your nearby your welcome to knock some sense into it

its flat as a fart off turbo. but the kick is fine at 4k.

really feel it in first with that second of lag when pulling out at junctions

i plan on doing stage one mods in the new year after the dyno run and i'll defo be going decat

crouch down at the front and get someone to rev it up a little and listen for a leak, get it on ramps with engine running and get someone to block the tail pipe.. look for dark carbon marks on joins etc..

if it has a non-standard dumpvalve check it is not leaking

ok cheers, i'll have a look at that, although i dont think its leaking as i didnt notice anything out of the ordinary as i put it on ramp the day after i bought it.. but then again i wasnt really looking for the leak, rather the knocking at the rear..

its standard, just a cat back exhaust.

dunx was right, thats all it needed

highly recommend it!
