Default knock sensor

had the CEL come on when i started the car this morning, car was very sluggish but it went out after about 5 min and hasn't been back on. joined the the two black plugs together and got code 22 (2 long - 2 short) which refer's to the knock sensor. what would cause this?

Hate to say it but....the Knock Sensor!

Might just be on it's way out. My car was doing this not long ago, fitted a new one and it was sorted.
