Question

Can anybody recommend a decent rolling road service in the Bedfordshire area, with preferably staff who know their scooby stuff?

Picked up my MY00 on the w/end, the only mods to it are BB, induction kit (foam cone filter), and dump valve.

It makes a fair amount of "air" noise as i take my foot off to change gear, and i'm assumimg this is all from the filter, but i'd like to have it put on a rolling road to check it out.

Plus i'd like to know its output anyway!

Any help appreciated,

Nick.

What about Powerstation in Cheltenham? or is that too far? bearing in mind I'm from Kent and drove up to them.

Or Tuning Japanese in Aldershot (think that is where they are?)

the air wooshing your hearing is from the dump valve.
as for rolling roads, you can't get much better than power engineering for professionalism. (thats a word 'n' half).

Coogie,

Kevin's dead right. Not only have PE got a FWD RR but the guys are really knowledgable and helpful. I think a session is £45 + VAT.

Thanks for the advice guys.

The air noise i'm getting, sounds more like vibrating air (if that makes any sense), rather than a whooshing sound when i lift off

Is this still the dump valve?

Yep - I'd recommend PE - & while you're there get the crappy MY00 ECU remapped by Stephen for £150 - probably the best £150 you'll ever spend!

Check out Drivetrain section for recent reports

Power Engineering at Uxbridge are quite knowledgeable and can give you a power run but this RR is a bit optimistic over Power Station's RR in Cheltenham (by about 15-20 BHP). Autotechnique in Luton may have a 4wd RR which may be closer or there may be one in Cambridge.

I'd lose the dump valve if I were you, unless you really like the noise because IMHO that's all there good for.

Which cone filter do you have?

BTW there is a RR day on the 27th April at PE, why don't you come along as I'll be there?

Thanks Floyd,

Cant replace the dump valve just yet, as i havent got the original.

Air filter is a Ramair, are these any good?

Also, just noticed an apparently common problem with the MY00 - my alarm bracket has cracked, and the alarm is hanging by the wiring!

Can these brackets be bought easily enough?

Nick.
