Default Turbo upgrade ?

Hi , we have just picked up a 03 STI , standard other than a ninja d-cat exhaust , (not sure if to change the exhaust as this as intergrated silencer ?)
ordered green panel filter , walbro fuel pump , and looking to get a map very soon my question is ... is it worth changing the turbo ? to gain a bit more from the map but keeping it safe ? if so what turbo is recomended ?

Is this a Type UK or a JDM car? What you have already will (even assuming a UK car) be good enough to get close to 350bhp. On the face of it there isn't a compelling reason to change the turbo on its own unless you have a number appreciably bigger than that in your head.

Oh, drive very carefully with a decatted and unmapped UK STI (actually it applies to all new age STI's and even some of the classic ones too!) as it will overboost and det its little heart out (especially in the cold weather).
As Splitpin has said, 350bhp is achievable on what you have with a map, just dont rag her or she will go bang (I would also suggest buying a KS3 or KS4 knock sensor to show you and give you visable warning of detonation in your engine on a modified car, see the group buy section, it is in there somewhere )

As said, the std turbo should get you to the 350bhp mark.

Is it fully decatted?
