I need to get heads skimmed
One of the head gaskets on my classic is passing.
once they have been removed i need to get them checked, skimed, pressure tested and possibly get the valves re-seated if needed.
If the valves need doing it will need re shiming as well.
Can anyone recomend anywhere to get the head refurb done in the Norwich / Lowestoft area. I live in Bungay, which is about half way between the two.
An idea of costs would be handy if poss.
Cheers Phill

Your looking at around the £800 quid mark to have it all done properly, some people will say it can be done for £300 but the cost of the skimming alone will eat into that
Think you have a scooby group near you, may have to google it but they will normally know where to get your car sorted

Once it's done, DO ensure your garage fits thicker gaskets to allow for the amount skimmed off, and keep your compression ratio the same.
I didn't, and my engine went bang last August.

I'm not sure about the cost of labor but I recently had 2 diesel heads skimmed. The first was £25 (306) and 2nd was £20 (Focus).
I know it doesn't help much, but can give you an idea of costs.
