Default Odd smell from heating system

Hey guys having a bit of a problem here, started two days ago smelt something a little odd first of all I thought it was a recent window washer fluid fill and just some that I spilt was burning off.

However it is still continuing, smells kinda like coolent but I see no leaks or such. And today there seems to be an odd scum on the drivers side of the in-side of the windscreen thinking somthing is deff wrong. Could ac leak of anything?

Its a 06 impreza

Kind regards
Chris

only a couple of years old but new things can go wrong,
go out to the car and press firmly on the carpet footwells and see if there is any damp
and have a good sniff to see if its coolent. warm the car up then put the heater on full and have a good look around the footwells,
obviously check if your loosing water even a small amount.

hey yea looked at the footwells there after some research, completely bone dry. Had it out there and seems its only the drivers side of the window that it getting the weird misting. Smell kinda appears sometimes def not constant.

I looked at the coolant and its right up to the top

ok took out the pollen filter no probs there prob should order a new one. Anyway had the glovebox out so stuck my arm in and there was no sign of dampness. Smell continuing to come out and still having odd patches on the windscreen.

Think the plan tomorrow is to take dash apart and try to get to the bottom of this.

Anyone got any other ideas? Windows def have a weird misty scum on them. Really bugging me, nightime with fogged up windows is pretty annoying.

Cheers
Chris

yeah m8,
just check you havent got a loose conection (pipework) on the matrix before you go ripping it all out,
may just need tightening up a tad.
