Default Prodrive Y Pipe

Hi,

is the WRX prodive Y pipe different to the STi's prodrive Y pipe? or all they all the same?

also do they offer a performance increase? or just more durability?

thanks,

Some of the STI's did not have a branch Y pipe like the normal turbo/WRX. Depends on model/year.

Generally the Prodrive Y pipes were fitted to the earlier turbos to allow them to spool up quicker and shift more air to the intercooler as part of the Prodrive Performance Package.

The Prodrive Y pipe is more durable, doesn't flex as some aftermarket one's can, they allow a smoother flow of air through unlike the OE one's and they don't crack like the OE one's can.
Not 100%, but I would imagine the WRX and STI pipes are the same.

ahh ok,

I have an 03 STi,which I just put on a WR1 ECU and exhaust etc,but still using the stock intercooler pipe, just wondered if it was something I needed.

I'll try and pick one up off Ebay,

Thanks,
