Question Turbo Intake

Hello all,
Am brand new to the website so will start of with a big HELLO! Am also pretty new to scooby's. I have got a 51 plate wrx and the Fuel hose's needed replacing last week. When i had the Manifold of i noticed that the turbo intake was on its last legs aswell, so if I have to go through taking the manifold of again to change it was wondering as to buy a sylicone one......are they any better than the stock one...seen a few cheap on ebay but was a little suspicious about the quality.....any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Deano.

Silicone intake hose on a 51plate WRX will free up and smooth out airflow before it hits the turbo. If you have supporting mods it's a good idea as that's when you make/feel the difference. If not then don't bother until you get those mods done.

Edited to add: Samco or SFS is what you want. Buy one form a proper independent Subaru performance centre or dealer.

Buy from eBay and you'll either get a cheap Chinese copy or be sent the wrong one. I've lost count now of how many of my customers bought one from eBay, asked for a newage pipe and got a classic instead, then it's a load of hassle to get it changed in the post so buy at your peril!!
