Hey there guys.
Got a 2 week holiday now so thought i would give the car a good service and replace a few parts that i have been meaning to do!
Whilst cleaning the engine bay today i started thinking about my top mount. I have a 1996 WRX STI '555' Version 2 impreza and it has a black slanty type intercooler on it. Is this the original one as looking around i have noticed the STi's have a silver one. I had a quick look on e-bay but couldnt find any silver slanty intercoolers.

sti`s have silver ones are you sure yours is a sti? could be a wrx vltd with 555 graphics like mine used to have

 

No decently a STi i know, all the VIN numbers match. Although being one of the first STi's i wondered if they used WRX parts. The engine wasn't a STi when i got it thou (had been blows and changed) so wondered if they just used that intercooler. Going to get a few bits tomorrow from the breakers so may see if they have a silver slanty one in.
What version is your car?

 

Hello from another 555 owner, as mentioned it should have had a silver intercooler. It doesnt have wrx parts unless somebody has put a wrx engine in yours. Get some pictures up.

 

its a version 2 wayne, only reason I asked is because ive compared my car side by side with a wrx sti 555 and that was one of the only obvious differences bar the roof scoop

my car and yours were released at the same time to celebrate subaru winning the manufacturers championship. yours is the wrx sti 555 mine is the wrx v-limited
