sti type r ecu- uk my98????

Default sti type r ecu- uk my98????

I have been offered for a good price a sti type r ecu v4 for my (my98) firstly i have been told that its 3 plug and that it will fit my car, and secoundly that not only will it fit my car but it will be a good upgrade on my standard ecu,is this true and will it damage my engine in any way??

it will fit BUT the STI engine internals are better,the rev limit is different ,runs a different turbo etc so not a good upgrade

The connectors in your loom will physically fit it but your car will not start without making changes to the pin configuration, and even then...

No, it's complete bollocks.

Quite possible. Even if it doesn't damage your engine, you would find the car almost certainly slower than with your own UK ECU. As Myblack has already said, STi ECUs are designed to run STi engines and turbos.
