Default high emissions / overfuelling

Took my 1995 Type Ra for it's MOT and found out it was overfuelling and the emissions were too high .Checked the error codes on the ECU and got 2 , #23 -Mass Air Flow Sensor and # 33 vehicle speed sensor -can anyone help me resolve these and hopefully get it through it's mot. Car is fitted with an induction filter,zerosports ECU and standard jap exhaust with cats.The car does seem to use a lot of petrol and the air/fuel guage seems to fluxtuate from 9-13 when accelerating.
Car drives fine.

You want to check the lambda sensor as long as the cats good it could possibly be that causing the maf to fluctuate so much

Update; removed MAF today and cleaned ,reset ECU and cleared codes, took the car for a good spirited run and went to garage and tested emissions - still high 0.789 .Put car on ramp and had a look for Lambda sensor - haven't got one fitted instead i've got an Innovate broadband sensor connected to the headers.Need to get to the bottom of this problem ,anyone any ideas????

IDEAS;
1.Remove Innovate sensor and fit Lambda- need to check if sensor is wired into ECU or just linked to Gauge on pillar pod ??
2.Fti a Z4 ECU and normal Lambda sensor ??
