Default tdo5 questions

i am looking at getting a tdo5 and z4 ecu for my wrx classic, just wondering if i need to change the injectors/fuel pump/exhaust aswell or if they will be fine on there own?

also is the turbo something i can fit myself or is it a garage job?

and when i have the money later on i will be hoping to get 300bhp and same torque, is the tdo5 ok for that with supporting mods?

oh and how do you check to make sure the turbo is in good working order before fitting?

sorry for all the questions but i have no experiance of checking/fitting a turbo.

thanks
neill.

If your car is a 1995 wrx it will be an import as opposed to the uk turbo 2000.
If it is a wrx import then it will already have a td05 16g.

As for 300 bhp a tdo5 will make that power level if it is in good condition and if you know nothing about turbos and fitting, then professional advice should be sought for inspection and fitting.

I think the 1995 wrx had 380 cc injectors which would max out around the 300 mark. Upgrading to yellow 440's would be advisable, along with a walbro fuel pump.

The slanty top mount also on these cars MAY and it's a big MAY make 300 hp but some would say to go front mount to reduce charge temps but for 300 you could opt for a later sti top mount.

Well that my 2 pence

He has a wrx wagon which means he has a td04 turbocharger and not a td05.

Could change the fuel pump as they are cheap enough (about £80).
Injectors and exhaust will be fine (the Z4 ecu is mapped for 380cc injectors)
You can change the turbo yourself but it's pain in the **** to do.
Td05 will be fine for 300bhp although your tmic may struggle.
A small amount of side to side play is ok ,it's if the shaft moves forwards and backwards there may be a problem.

its a 95 wrx wagon import, it made 203 bhp on scoobclinics rolling road recently and i am sure it is a td04 as standard, sorry should have put this on to start with.
