Question ABS question

a friend of min went for a bfg today (oversease army mot)

the thing is the inspector failed his car because the abs light would not come on when he put the ignition on is this right as another friend done the same test last week also failed for this,i cant check mine as my car has no abs the models in concer are uk my95 wagon the other is a jap import 95 or 96 sti

if any on has similar cars could you just flick the key and check for me

all help greatlly apreciated,steve

it would only take one turn of a key to answer this all help would be apreciated,steve

The ABS light should come on when you turn the ignition on and then go out once the cars started. It could be that the bulb has blown, try taking the instrument cluster out and change the bulb over for one thats known to be working e.g. handbrake etc.
