Im looking to change my prodrive exhuast to a blitz nur spec r, i am running a simtek now i know changing things means i would need a remap but would i if i was just changing the backbox spech when the prodrive one is similar ect

in theory a backbox change should be okay but on a any map based ecu like the simtek there is no compensation for airflow changes as the ecu can only see manifold absolute pressure. Therefore if the exhaust is more efficent it will effect the airflow through the engine and require a map tweak.

I still have the ppp ecu would that be capable of running the decat i have fitted if i was to change it back to the pp ecu, as i still have the maf sensor plug in place and the bit tht pugs into it is used for the simtek i belie

when u say the simtek cant make allownces for airflow change, would that mean that cutting my esonator out or remoing it would also mean i need to change themap?

yes it might alter it but you are making minor changes so it would really just be worth getting it checked
