No Spark, help please.
Hi Guys,
I've just joined today and need a bit of help. I've recently acquired my brothers 96 pre facelift 2000 turbo which won't start.
All I know is that my brother was driving along then a load of steam came up from under the bonnet and the car died. looking at it it looks like the top inlet to the header tank (the plastic type) where the hose fits onto has broken so must have spewed the water from the turbo all over the area and done some electrical damage.
It's not running and had been told it was the coil packs so picked up a spare set to try, but has made no difference. I've checked the coils and they seem OK, the voltage to them seems OK but still no spark. Swapped coils around and regapped the plugs to 0.6 but still nothing.
I dunno what to try next, I'm thinking that although theres battery voltage going to the coil it's not getting the circuit to create the spark which could be the ignitor or the ECU but other than getting another ignitor & ECU I dunno what to do next.
Anyone got any suggestions!!!!!!
