Sounds like the hoses have been off at some point and not refitted correctly. I presume you are talking about the rubber ones and not the hard pipes? Grade A breakers should have the hoses you need or just fit a braided hose kit for around £60 purchase plus fitting.

ADL/Blueprint do gaitors for around £10 iirc

Means your front bakes are not braking with the same force i.e. one side is less efficient than the other.

Try stripping your front brakes and make sure the pistons are not seized in the calipers, then try your pads in and make sure they slide easily and are not a tight fit. I've seen so many brake pads hammered into calipers and unable to slide as they should. Another possibility is that they need bled which you will have to do anyway seeing as you need new flexi's.

Get some braided flexi's, bout £60. Give callipers a good clean, copper grease on all pins and back of pads. If your car is an import your fog light was prob about 50p, get a new one for about a fiver. Where are you, sure someone on here would helpm you out.
