Nowt much to choose between all the panels. In testing there was only a +/- 2bhp spread between Green, K&N, STi, OE paper and a foam type (can't remember make). The expensive STi produced the least power, had below average filtration and is serviceable, so needs replacing every service. Foam filters showed poor filtration, but the cotton gauze types were as good as the OE paper, although there is almost no benefit apart from being lifetime 'buy once' items.

Induction kits should only be an option when going over 350bhp, and even then I would only really advise it in conjunction with a FMIC and MAF-less set-up. They need a good cold air feed and isolation if they are not to draw in hot, dirty engine bay air, potentially reducing performance. They are also proven to be dangerous to use in cars running MAF sensors, especially the hotwire item used in 98-00 Scoobs, as the excessive vibrations might kill them and if unnoticed can lead to DET and engine meltdown.

Interesting thoughts folk, so by fitting green panel filter to standard air box change the tone of sound when reved like the induction kits drawing all the air in ?
