Default std hubs/struts onto type r???

Hi,

I may need to make my type r a rolling shell. Just checking to see if i can fit std hubs to the rear and std struts all round or if it needs to be specific. Not looking for miracles, just need to get it on and off a trailer.....

Cheers.

Yea, anything off a classic will fit.

Don't forget to fit the driveshafts though, otherwise the wheel bearings will fall apart and there's a good chance a wheel will fall off.

Do the shafts stay in situ or need tied off?

Sorry Doug, not quite sure what you mean by that...

If you have a bare shell, then you will need to fit the suspension and hubs (from any classic impreza) and then slot the driveshafts into the hubs, fit the hub nuts and tighten them enough to hold the shaft in place.

The inner part of the shafts will now be ponting down towards the ground, so you will need to support the centre of the shaft with either a bungie strap or rope/string so that they are roughly horizontal to the hub and can spin freely. This will stop the shafts from flailing about and hitting the ground or bodyshell whilst you manover the shell into place.
